Ida M. Lawry has been practicing law for over 30 years. Her areas of practice concentrate on: Adoption, Condominium Association, Fair Debt Collection Practice, Fair Debt Reporting Act, Real Estate, Guardianship, and Wills. She has successfully represented more than 1,500 clients in those combined practice areas. Ida advises clients on: real estate contract review, step-parent adoptions and other adoption procedures, homeowner’s liens and resolutions. She also instructs clients on their rights in reference to creditors. Additionally, Ida advises clients on Power of Attorney and Guardianship and the appropriateness of each option in eldercare situations. In Family Law matters, Ida addresses issues of: equitable distribution, paternity, child support, and child custody.
Prior to her tenure with the firm, Ida served as a prosecutor with the Broward County State Attorney’s office. Her achievements included opening the first South County Branch in Pembroke Park; organizing and training new prosecutors; and developing case filing procedures for various police departments. Subsequently, Ida served as legal advisor for the Organized Crime Bureau of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, and was a hearing officer for the Broward County Gun Control Ordinance.
Before her government positions, Ida spent many years in private practice, handling family law, real estate, probate, and bankruptcy cases. While in law school, Ida was a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity.
Her personal interests include reading, traveling, and spending time with family.
