Mr. Gosney’s deep and diverse background fortifies his specialized practice in criminal law.
Before law school, Mr. Gosney worked in non-profit trade associations, including three and a half years as CEO of the Volusia County Home Builder’s Association. After law school, he spent six years in civil litigation practice, primarily in probate and real estate litigation. Transitioning to the State Attorney’s Office for six years, Mr. Gosney found his place in criminal law.
He then transitioned to the Public Defender’s Office where he moved into appellate law for over fourteen years, participating in approximately five hundred appeals. He trained and mentored numerous attorneys in both the appellate and trial divisions. Eventually, he became part of the death penalty practice teams for the office.
Mr. Gosney has authored many books and articles on criminal law and the death penalty.
